FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Do you accept Credit Cards?

A: Yes, we accept VISA and MASTERCARD.

Q: How long will it take after the wedding before we get our video delivered?

A: It will take four to eight weeks, depending on the package and options you have chosen.

Q: Do you offer any discounts?

A: We offer a 5% discount on all videography packages paid in full.

Q: My wedding is during the week or on the off-season?

A: We do not offer any discounts based on day of week or season.

Q: What are your terms of business?

A: We require a 50% non-refundable retainer to secure our services. The balance is payable in full 10 days prior to your event date.  We accept Personal Checks, Money Orders, Cashier Checks, and Credit Cards.

Q: California State BOE does not require Sales Tax to be collected on qualified video productions. Why do you collect CA State Sales Tax?

A: Correct, the Board of Equalization does not require sales tax to be collected for qualified video productions. However, the BOE states in regulation 1529: "Qualified motion picture does not include motion pictures produced for private noncommercial use, such as motion pictures of weddings or graduations to be used as family mementos, accident reconstruction videotapes to be used for legal analysis, or student films to be used for class projects." Therefore, your wedding video is subject to CA State Sales tax.

Q:  Do I have to sign a Production Agreement?  Why?

A: Yes.  A Production Agreement ensures that both you and Videographe understand what services are to be provided, and ensures that the date(s), locations, etc. are accurate.  Signing an agreement protects both parties.  One should always sign a Production Agreement when commissioning any type of video/film/audio production work.

Q: If I choose to have Videographe only shoot my ceremony and reception, and then six months later I want an edited version, how much will I be charged?  Is it cheaper?

A:  We are fully equipped to edit your wedding video at a later date. However, we do not edit wedding videos that we have not originally shot. Videographe charges $75/hour.  On average, it takes anywhere from 10 to 30 hours to edit a wedding video, depending on the complexity of the project.  Generally speaking, it is more cost effective to have the editing and duplication done at the same time the wedding is shot.

Q: Do you book more than one wedding per day?

A: We are certainly equiped to shoot more than one wedding a day, however we generally don't. If you have noticed that your day is booked, we still may consider shooting your wedding.

Q: Why would I have 2 cameras at my wedding instead of the 1 camera?

A: Two cameras provide more footage and camera angles for your final wedding video.   By adding more angles, an Editor has more shot selection in the editing room, thus giving your video a more polished look.

Q: Why use a wireless microphone?

A: Vows can be heard clearly when the groom wears a microphone. Using a wireless microphone is discreet and vastly increases the audio quality.

Q: What are bridal prep shots?

A: Bridal prep shots are taken while the bride is getting ready for the ceremony. By adding this option, your production value is increased significantly.

Q: What's a "Highlight Recap"?

A: The highlight recap is a summary taken from special moments of the day, edited into one continuous video segment.

Q: May I order a DVD at a later date?

A: Certainly. We keep a master copy of your Wedding DVD for 1 year, so you may be able to order additional copies.

Q: You state that there is "up to 6 hours of coverage." Will you be there for 6 hours total? What if our wedding day is less than 6 hours? Or more than 6 hours?

A: For all single camera packages we offer up to 6 hours of coverage. In most cases we remain at your wedding for 6 hours. However, if you wedding is less than 6 hours, we do not prorate our time. If your wedding is more than 6 hours, we charge an additional overtime rate of $150/hour per videographer.
